The thing about the alcohol, the wine, the ‘spirit’, is the selfishness. Alcohol is the amplifier, the highlighter. Its work is limited to what’s there. Its function is to draw it out. It is too often mistaken for a creator. It is not. Relinquish emotional attachments/selfish desires. When the selfishness has been relinquished, the alcohol behaves differently and, perhaps, much desire for alcohol in the first place might also go away. Become spiritual. Live in the real Realm of Wisdom. Cease to create earthly realities, even nebulous scapegoats like ‘spirits’ which are created selfishly to participate in an earthly cause/effect spiral of blame. Clean the inside of the cup and earthly struggle dissipates. For hasn’t it been said that nothing from outside can go into a man to make him unclean?
