One thing I’ve come to learn as (and into) a sort of clandestine patience is that if you keep trying and striving and seeking then sooner or later, no matter how often and inelegantly you’ve said the wrong things, you’ll stumble upon the right things to say.
This is a true blessing and this is undoubtedly one of the laws of eternity. It’s all in the trying. It is likewise all in the persistence. (Ultimately, over time, the coupling of trying and persistence amounts to patience).
That’s why it’s so disheartening when the wrong thing said seems to have resulted in a permanence of rupture, the wreckage of friendship. It seems that an innocuous wrong thing said can tear at perception and rip feelings hurtfully and it seems that the hurt party can and will react protectively and self-interestedly with a hardened scar covering and a turning away.
But this is never necessary. With trying and persistence, i.e. patience, all wrongs can be righted.
This is true both in this world, (the world of delusion), as it is in the only real authentic world, the unseen [but not unseeable] living Realm of Wisdom. To echo a paraphrase of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin: evolution and destiny are always moving in the direction of beauty and goodness; the truthful thing becomes the right thing and the right thing will balance all wrongs, real or imagined or misperceived. There is just something about this delusional world that thrives on misperception and long-term rift and seemingly permanent wrongs that require banishment, isolation, blame, scapegoating. It must be that anti-wisdomish, delusional, ‘reality’ of ‘common sense’ requires discontent to exist. This delusional world is always going about feeding lack of imagination and is always going about giving us cause to fear the unseen world and by extension and extrapolation, to fear even more this very ‘real’ world too, and its enemies, real or imagined, that the creative discontented fertile imagination creates. Fear has an institutionalized way of becoming common sense. Fear and isolation are the purpose of this delusional world.
Keep trying. Keep seeking. The right and true things will always be stumbled upon, even ̶ finally! ̶ the right things to say. We are meant to be one and not the isolated multitudes. That is wisdom. Quieten down into the Realm! Come and join the living!
